FAQs
What is the difference between mixing and mastering?
Mixing is the process of balancing and enhancing individual elements of a track (kick, bass, synths, vocals, etc.) to form a cohesive stereo mix. Mastering is the final step — it processes the stereo mix as a whole, optimizing loudness, tonal balance, and stereo width for playback on various systems (clubs, headphones, streaming).
Do I need both mixing and mastering?
If you’re confident in your mixdown and just want the final polish, mastering alone may be enough. But if your mix lacks clarity, balance, or punch, we recommend our Full Mix & Master service, where our engineers take care of everything from scratch.
What genres do you specialize in?
We specialize in electronic music and its subgenres, including:
- Techno
- House (deep, melodic, minimal)
- Drum & Bass, Breaks, UK Bass
- Ambient, Downtempo, IDM
- Electronica, Experimental
If your music sits outside these genres, feel free to reach out — we’re always open to hearing new sounds.
What’s included in the standard mastering service?
Our €20 Standard
- Master includes:
- EQ and tonal correction
- Analog and/or digital compression
- Stereo widening
- Limiting for loudness
- Delivery in WAV (16/24-bit) + MP3 on request
We ensure your track is ready for Spotify, Beatport, SoundCloud, and the club.
What is stem mastering and when should I choose it?
Stem mastering gives us more control by letting us process grouped audio tracks (e.g., drums, bass, synths) individually. Choose this option if your mix feels unbalanced or you want to preserve flexibility. It’s a step between full mixing and stereo mastering.
How do I prepare my files for mastering?
Please follow these steps:
- Export your final mix in WAV or AIFF (16 or 24-bit).
- Keep the sample rate at 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz.
- Make sure there’s no limiter, compressor, or clipping on the master channel.
- Leave at least -6 dB of headroom for best results.
Can I request a revision?
Yes! Every service includes 1 free revision to ensure you’re 100% satisfied. If you need additional tweaks beyond that, we offer affordable revision options.
Â
What formats will I receive?
You’ll receive:
- 16-bit or 24-bit WAV file
- Optional MP3 or streaming-optimized versions (on request)
- We can also deliver versions with -14 LUFS for Spotify, YouTube, or Apple Music.
Â
Will you give feedback on my mix?
